WE DID IT!
Setting our sights on a dream playground, almost $20,000 was raised in just under 6 weeks thanks to many generous donors. These donations and our KaBOOM! grant allowed our dream to become a reality.
On December 1, 2007, over 300 volunteers (families, teachers, staff, local National Guardsmen, members of the Slidell and Stennis Rotary Clubs, Slidell High School teaching academy and Key Club members, and many others) spent the day transforming our school's playground.
The improvements include:
- new large playground structure featuring a triple monster slide
- new swings (including a tire swing!)
- new slide
- fresh paint on the gym and special education portables
- newly mulched and pruned landscaping
- freshly painted U.S. map, hopscotch and 4 square
- newly built outdoor classroom (special thanks to Mrs. Silbernagel's dad)
- new benches (special thanks to the Boy Scouts)
